PHARMACY SCHOOL & AMPHITHEATER UPR
San Juan, Puerto Rico
The proposed building consists of 74,000 square feet distributed in two volumes that form an "L" shape.

The new Pharmacy Building will have conference halls, four classrooms, storage for laboratory equipment and three teaching laboratories (for manufacturing, drug analysis, and pharmaceutical skills). There are two laboratories in the research area, one is pharmaceutical and the other is for research practice. As for the faculty, a separate building will have 44 offices, meeting rooms, a room for audiovisual equipment and administrative offices.
The building structures will be of reinforced concrete and will emphasize the use of prefabricated panels and overhangs to accelerate the construction process. The interior walls will be of gypsum wallboard as well as concrete block. The main volume of the group has three stories at the plaza level and one underneath it. The secondary volume, which has the amphitheater semi-attached, has one high structure.
The amphitheater will be located on the north side of the new plaza, and has capacity for 350 people. The amphitheater is for academic purposes, small concerts, conferences, forums, and other functions that don't require a backstage.
